Nokia could sell luxury Vertu brand to VC firm for $265 million
As much as it'd be interesting to see Windows Phone running on a $21,000 gold-plated cigar lighter, that's probably never going to happen. According to the UK's Financial Times, Nokia has been trying to hive off its luxury Vertu brand for months already, and has finally found a suitor with the right cash / sense ratio. Although still far from a done deal, we're told that venture capitalist firm Permira is willing to contribute up to $265 million to Nokia's needy coffers -- which might sound like a lot, but is mere costume jewelry to a manufacturer that just lost $1.7 billion.

The Stars of Bravo's New Show Are Bringing Glamour to the Big Apple

Bravo's 2012 line-up just got all the more fashionable, as the network prepares to unveil a new docu-series tentatively called Decades. The show will follow renowned boutique owners Christos Garkinos and Cameron Silver as they take viewers inside the exclusive and glamorous world of vintage couture filled with Givenchy, Balenciaga and Chanel.
While their boutique, also named "Decades," is situated in Hollywood, Christos and Cameron will be headed back to New York on April 26-28 for a Prada/Schiaparelli-inspired trunk show in honor of the upcoming Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and to celebrate the launch of the Decades for Rent the Runway collection. The boutique owners took time out of their busy schedules to speak to In Touch about the upcoming show and series.
?Our store mantra has always been to encourage people to 'dress up!'" Cameron said. "At our upcoming New York event with Rent the Runway, we will have the perfect clothing and accessories to get people into the social-scene spirit ? whether you?re shopping for the Met gala or looking for a prom dress, we?ve got it all. We love New York! We can?t wait to bring the best of Decades to the Big Apple."
As for what will make the Decades show different than other fashion-inspired series, Cameron tells viewers to get their pencils ready. "It?s not only totally entertaining, but also truly informative. So for any fashion fan, it will be like Fashion 101 ? but unlike school, you?ll be giggling your way through it!?

Amazon's Q1 2012 earnings: net income down 35 percent to $130 million, net sales at $13.18 billion
It's no Apple-sized quarter, but you'd need to be on HGTV's Million Dollar Rooms a handful of times over to scoff at Amazon's Q1 2012 earnings. After reporting $177 million in net earnings last quarter (on $17.43 billion in revenue), the online sales behemoth has today registered $13.18 billion in net sales -- proudly reporting that said tally was up from the $9.86 billion in its Q1 a year ago. Excluding the $56 million unfavorable impact from year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates throughout the quarter, net sales would have grown 34 percent compared with first quarter 2011. As for operating income? That checked in at $192 million (compared to $322 million Q1 2011), with the outfit noting that the "unfavorable impact from year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates throughout the quarter on operating income was $4 million." Net income also sank 35 percent from $201 million a year ago, but it still left Amazon with $130 million more in the bank than it had just three months ago.
It's important to note that the outfit didn't have "the holidays" here to help out, but it's still a bit worrisome to investors when profit margin shrinks. Focusing on more positive things, CEO Jeff Bezos noted that Amazon has "over 130,000 new, in-copyright books that are exclusive to the Kindle Store," again reminding the world that Amazon Prime members can "borrow them for free with no due dates." We're also told that the Kindle Fire remains the top, most gifted and most wished for product across its entire store, while pointing out that the North American sales segment was up 36 percent from Q1 2011 (reaching $7.43 billion). Our overseas comrades -- specifically, Amazon's UK, German, Japanese, French, Chinese, Italian and Spanish sites -- accounted for $5.76 billion in sales, up 31 percent year-over-year. Worldwide media sales saw a 19 percent uptick to $4.71 billion, while global electronics and "other merchandise" saw sales grow a whopping 43 percent to $7.97 billion. Notably, the company continually banged on unfavorable exchange rates, so if you're looking for a place to heap blame... well, there you go.

Wiz Khalifa And Mac Miller Ham Up Rap Beef On 'RapFix Live'
The Pittsburgh pair refuse to look at each other in their first joint interview.

Call them hip-hop's odd couple. Though they both hail from Pittsburgh and are signed to local indie label Rostrum Records, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller absolutely hate each other — well, not really. On Wednesday's "RapFix Live," the 'Burgh's finest appeared together for their first joint interview.
Rather than play things straight, the pair decided to have a little fun on set.
"Why is he here?" Wiz asked, throwing his hands in the air after host Sway Calloway brought Mac onto the "RapFix Live" set.
"I'm getting hated on on this couch man; can I get my own couch?" Mac responded.
Sway tried to play peacemaker, but Wiz and Mac weren't having it. The two were cordial enough to sit down on the red couch together, but refused to face each other.
"I haven't seen you in a while man, you looking good," Khalifa said, looking away from Miller trying to break the playful tension. "Thanks, wish I can say the same for you, man," Mac responded, trying his best to hold in his laughter.
A beef between Pittsburgh's two biggest rap stars would be quite problematic, considering that the duo are planning to hit the road together this summer on the Under the Influence of Music tour. Khalifa and Miller will be joined by Taylor Gang's Chevy Woods as well as TDE's Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q on the nine-show run.
Though they remain good friends, Wiz and Mac have built their own careers separate from each other. There are only a few low-key collaborations between the pair, but they plan to record together again soon. "Me and Mac are gonna collaborate together because that's what I want to do, it doesn't matter what he wants to do. What I say goes," Wiz said in character. "We're gonna do a song, because we've had a plan this whole time," Mac revealed.
"Actually I need Mac. I'm trying to use his success to boost my album because it's about to come out," Khalifa joked.
